Abstract: Describes a developmental program implemented through the music department at the University of Kansas that was designed to develop and maintain musical skills in noninstitutionalized, mature adults. The group of participants currently consists of 20 people (aged 56-81 yrs) and includes a conductor; autoharp, flute, guitar, vibraphone, and harmonica players; and singers. Group goals and responsibilities, literature used, attitudes concerning program participation, financial concerns, and program feasibility are discussed. (8 ref)
