Planning music activities to meet needs and treatment goals of aged individuals in long-term care facilities |
Journal/Book: Music Therapy. 1983; 3: 63-70.
Abstract: Presents a model for meeting the needs and treatment goals of aged individuals in long-term care facilities through the therapeutic use of music activities. The development of the model and each of its components--selected treatment goals, music activities matched to the goals, and a framework for planning music activity programs in treatment--are outlined. The model illustrates the process of planning programs in relation to individual needs and treatment goals and is also useful in teaching self-evaluation and increasing therapist accountability.
