Music therapy with a Belgian patient: A follow-up |
Journal/Book: British Journal of Projective Psychology and Personality Study. 1983; 28: 31-35.
Abstract: In this article presented at the 8th World Congress of Social Psychiatry in Zagreb in 1981, the author presents results of a follow-up of a case study reported by R. Dellaert (1967) concerning a 42-yr-old unmarried female music teacher who suffered from inhibition of contact with other people and from obsessional and depressive tendencies. The present author contacted S in 1980 and asked her to develop musical compositions around the 20 musical themes used in the discussions in psychotherapy. Results show her psychotherapeutic development and her accomplishments as a musician and teacher; they are discussed in terms of the development of music therapy. Three compositions are appended.
