Considerations of Different Forms of Music therapy: |
Journal/Book: Musiktherapeutische Umschau. 1983; 4: Stuttgart. G. Fischer Verlag. 11-21.
Abstract: The choice of a perticular form of music therapy depends in practice not only on an abstract objective but also on external circumstances connected with the patient, the institution and the therapist. But in addition the objective itself and the means selected for attaining it are widely divergent in the field of music therapy, as evidenced by the reports of various authors. A reflection on the components of music therapy aims to encourage the most profitable therapeutic use of the available possibilities. The following components are abstracted: 1. The effect of music on an individual. 2. An individual's effect on himself by means of music. 3. Individuals' mutual effect on each other by means of music.
