Abstract: Discusses how music therapy, as a self-expressive treatment, uses operative group techniques and concrete elements to help patients whose "symbolization" ability is impaired. The assembly of a music therapy team, its role during therapy sessions, criteria of patient selection and group formation, and objective pursuits are described. Information on musical creative responses and the most popular instruments is also presented along with illustrative case examples. (English abstract) (12 ref)
