Vergleichende Untersuchung druckdolenter Akupunkturpunkte bei der Koxarthrose - diagnostische und therapeutische Möglichkeiten

Abstract: While examining patients with chronic coxarthritis, the author noticed a constant locus a hand's width distal to the great trochanter which is particularly painful upon pressure. This locus is also more sensitive to pressure than the acupuncture point GB 30 in healthy patients. In this study, the author was able to statistically confirm the implication acquired in clinical examinations that the severity of complaints of the hip joint in cases of activated chronic coxarthritis is related to these points' sensitivity upon pressure. This point's greater sensitivity to pressure in comparison to GB 30 makes it an additional diagnostic parameter for objective judgement of complaints in the hip region. The measurement data on the pressure-painful points of 47 hips in coxarthritis patients were compared with a control group consisting of 28 hips. A pilot study refers to the therapeutic aspects.
