Interdisciplinary approaches to therapy and education for the developmentally disabled and the psychiatrically handicapped |
Journal/Book: Art Psychotherapy. 1978; 5: 25-30.
Abstract: Presents a paper given in October 1977 at the 28th Annual Conference of the National Association for Music Therapy. The conference focused on the need for collaboration among disciplines serving persons with developmental disabilities and psychiatric handicaps. The implications of new developments, such as Public Law 94-142, which guarantees equal education for the handicapped, and thereby places great responsibilities on art therapists, are discussed. The crucial problem is how to achieve cooperation among art therapists in different areas.
