Abstract: Berlin Germany 1 Results of Andes Expediton 1967. SUMMARY Forty-two persons were tested during an ascent from sea level to 6 200 m (20 000 ft). Influence of drugs an acclimatization at high altitudes was proved. With increased altitude the ergometer working capacity decreased continually to 50 %. The rheograms showed typical changes of vasoconstriction with diminished peripheral blood flow. The contraction time of the Achilles tendon reflex was prolonged at 6 200 m. The ECG indicated an increase of P amplitude signs of a right axis shift and flattening of the T wave. Treatment with blood extract (Solcoseryl) resulted in significant improvement of the working capacity. ___MH
