Eros and the ego: The use of ego assessment in creatively addressing a sexualized transference

Abstract: A case study of a Black 27-yr-old male with chronic paranoid schizophrenia provides an example of sexualized transference and of how an art therapist can successfully use such energy toward a therapeutic relationship. Though challenging, the flexibility inherent in creative arts therapies helped the therapist to find a medium with which to make contact with the patient.
