Mikrobielle Präparate in der Therapie rezidivierender Infekte des Respirationstraktes

Abstract: The medicamentous treatment of patients with recurrent infections of the respiratory tract and in the ENT area is often very unsatisfactory. A report is given of therapeutic experience with microbial preparations and of three randomized double-blind placebo studies: 1) "The raising of endogenous resistance in the case of chronically recurrent tonsillitis" (S. Kalinski, 1986) with a preparation; 2) "lmmunostimulation for infections of the upper respiratory passages and in the ENT area (S. Kalinski, 1987) likewise with the Enterococcus preparation; and 3) "The raising of endogenous resistance in the case of chronic sinusitis" (B. Schmaltz, 1991) with an E. coli vaccine. All three studies confirm the decades of experience gained with microbial preparations and demonstrate their efficacy.Since in medical practice one is not restricted to the use of only one preparation, it is even possible to achieve a much more favourable effect by the combination of different microbial preparations and, where appropriate, by additional phytotherapeutic, homeopathic and antihomotoxic agents and dietary, hydrotherapeutic and similar measures.
