Einfluß der neuen Schädelakupunktur nach Yamamoto auf die Schmerzschwellenänderung

Abstract: Changes of the pain threshold were measured on 100 patients with pain in the shoulder and/or upper arm area (LI 15, LI 14), immediately after the sensation of warmth, which was evoked by a treatment using the new scalp acupuncture according to Yamamoto (group 1: Y-I C-zone homolaterally). The results were compared with the data of two control groups: - Group 2: 20 patients were treated at the beginning with y-1, C-zone contralaterally. - Group 3: 20 patients were not treated at all. All patients suffered of the same data showed the following results: There was a statistically significant difference in the pain thresholds of group 1 compared to those of the control groups 2 and 3 (p < 0,01 1% level of significance). This change alreaddy occured after 30 seconds. There was also a general impovement in the clinical complaints.
