HENDRICK) Klinik für Rehabilitation (Chefarzt: MR Prof. PRESBER) Zusammenfassung Der Einsatz des Schwimmens für therapeutische Zwecke hat in den letzten Jahren eine erfreuliche Entwicklung genommen. Über die Auslösung von physiologischen Regulationen bewirkt die Schwimmtherapie wie auch andere Körperübungen Anpassungsvorgänge des Organismus und erzielt damit einen echten Trainingseffekt. Unsere therapeutische Palette in der Physiotherapie wird mit dem Einsatz der Schwimmtherapie für eine zunehmende Zahl von Indikationen erheblich erweitert. Wir sollten aber bei allem Enthusiasmus nicht vergessen daß es sich um eine allgemein konditionierende Maßnahme handelt die im Gesamtbehandlungsplan sinnvoll eingeordnet werden muß. Der große Vorteil dieser Therapieform besteht darin daß sie überall dort wo ein Schwimmbecken zur Verfügung steht durchführbar ist und nach entsprechender Einweisung als Dauerprogramm ohne Physiotherapeuten fortgesetzt werden kann. Summary The use of swimming for therapeutic purposes had a pleasing development in recent years. By evoking physiologic regulations the swimming therapy as well as other physical exercises the swimming therapy causes adaptation processes of the organism and thus achieves an actual training effect. Our therapeutic possibilities in physiotherapy are considerably for an increasing number of indications with the use of the swimming therapy. But in all enthusiasm we should not forget that it is a generally conditioning measures which must be reasonably included in the general plan of treatment. The great advantage of this form of therapy consists in the fact that there where a swimming-pool is at our disposal it can be carried out and that it can be continued without physiotherapist after adequate instruction. ___MH
