Seasonal variation and meteotropism in suicide |
Journal/Book: Curr Opin Psychiatry. 2000; 13: 530 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19106-3621, USA. Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. 655-660.
Abstract: Recent literature on seasonal variation, and weather or climate influence, in suicide is reviewed. Recent studies have challenged the widely held notion that seasonal effects on suicide are a unitary phenomenon, not influenced by age, gender or the circumstances of the act. Suggestions for research and the development of more effective preventive strategies are offered. Curr Opin Psychiatry 13:655-660.
