Perceptual learning in development: Some basic concepts

Abstract: In this paper, I outline the major properties of learning affordances. This learning is a process of differentiation and selection, not addition or construction from smaller units. Selection is based on the affordance fit and the reduction of uncertainty. I describe illustrative studies of human infants.
