Abstract: Naturally existing immunomodulators activate leucocytes, especially mononuclear phagocytes and granulocytes. There is also a release of cytokines.In vitro findings alone do not allow any conclusions with respect to the effect in the case of certain diseases. Reports from practice and clinic as well as experience with therapies from veterinary medicine prove, that an immunomodulation in the case of a respective indication by suitable substances is of far-reaching therapeutic importance.
