Immunkorrigierender Einfluss von Zink-Spirulina bei Kindern und Erwachsenen mit Haarausfall (Alopezie)

Abstract: In this study fit was investigated to which extent Zinc-Spirulina", a speciality of the microalgae Spirulina platensis with a higher content of zinc, may alleviate alopecias caused by stress and bad environmental influences. Besides the influence an immunological and vegetative functions was examined. The study was carried out in and around Minsk (Belorussia), a region ecologically very much affected by the disaster of Chernobyl.The participants of the investigation were 10 children and 10 adults who did not only have hair growth problems, but also a number of other symptoms. As the trace element zinc plays an important role especially in the case of alopecia, the participants of the study took a Spirulina speciality with a naturally higher content of zinc (Zinc yeast free Hau® from Sanatur) over a period of up to 3 months. Depending an the test person, between 3 and 16 tablets per day (1 tablet contains 400 mg Spirulina platensis with 1 mg organically bound zinc) were consumed. In order to stimulate hair growth, some persons additionally massaged their head with Zinc-Spirulina (tablets) pulverised and mixed with castor oil or bur-root oil.In many cases an improvement of the complaints could be achieved. 3 of 10 children and 7 of 10 adults did not have any further hair loss or even remarked new hair growth. Moreover, the status of the immune system was improved as a result of the consumption of Zinc-Spirulina. The number of T helper-cells and of the activated T lymphocytes increased and the number of circulating immune complexes decreased. Furthermore, the study showed that due to the consumption of Zinc-Spirulina the values of malondialdehyde (MDA) returned to normal and the protection of oxidation improved clearly.Besides, 90 % of the children and 80 % of the adults showed positive changes with regard to the general state of health: they slept more quietly, had more appetite and were fitter than before. The digestion and the body weight became normal, and the allergic tendency decreased.By this study fit could be proved that due to the supplementation of the daily diet with the Spirulina speciality Zinc yeast free Haul hair loss may be stopped and hair growth even be promoted. Therefore this food supplement is very recommendable also for long-term use.
