Abstract: Otosclerosis is a metabolic bone disease that affects the bones of the ear, but no other bones in the human body. Otosclerosis results in a progressive hearing loss, usually of a conductive type, that generally begins in the patient's late twenties or early thirties. This conductive hearing loss can be treated successfully with hearing aids or surgery
