Abstract: The dopaminergic effect of different extracts of Vitex agnus-castus has been proven in several clinical and pharmacological studies. In this article, various open studies of different indications concerning cycle disorders, one double-blind study of luteal phase defect and two double-blind studies an patients suffering from mastodynia ere described and discussed. Also, the dopaminergic effect of extracts of Vitex agnus-castus an male test persons is examined. The results received with the open studies as well as the double-blind studies confirm the field of application of Agni-casti-fructus preparations as recommended by Germans Commission E.
