Transference in supervision under gender-specific aspects |
Journal/Book: Gruppenpsychother Gruppendyn. 1998; 34: Theaterstrasse 13, Postfach 77, W-37070 Gottingen, Germany. Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht. 299-317.
Abstract: In modern psychoanalysis the classical concept of transference has been widened into the concept of ''action-dialogue'' according to which social roles influence ongoing subconcious processes. This makes it necessary to analyze interactions also under gender-specific aspects. The author presents gender-specific examples from her pratice as a female supervisor which demonstrate that not only psychotherapy but also in supervison ongoing subconcious transactions (the ''scene'' between the actors) with their deep-rooted needs and unnoticed role-delegations are dependent on the gender of the supervisor.
