Human-structural dance therapy and the development of body-ego-identity and sexuality |
Journal/Book: Dynam Psych. 1998; 31: Kantstrasse 120/121, D-10625 Berlin, Germany. Pinel-Verlag Fur Humanistische Psych Philos. 119-131.
Abstract: Based on the assumption, that disorders in the field of body-ego-identity and sexuality also concern the central core of the unconscious, the author considers human-structural dance - as expression of the unconscious and access to it - as a special form of treatment for these disorders. In turning her special attention to body-ego identity and sexuality, she describes the developmental process of young anorectic woman. This process occured in an integrated outpatient treatment situation of dance therapy, milieu therapy and analytical group therapy. Her results are based on the evaluation of video-recordings of selected dances by independent raters, on minutes of the group therapies, on milieu-therapeutic records, on the comparison of ISTA-assessments of the whole therapeutic process and on an interview with the patient one year after having finished her therapy.
