Methodologic issues in qualitative research with incarcerated women |

Abstract: Prisoners have been designated as a vulnerable population by the US Department of Health and Human Services, thereby requiring special research considerations. Research with incarcerated women is particularly lacking within all disciplines. This article identifies methodologic issues in qualitative research with incarcerated women, describes a qualitative study currently being conducted, and discusses strategies used to improve the quality of qualitative research.
