Abstract: This study examined the associations between Vietnam veterans' levels of war-related symptoms of arousal and avoidance and their spouses' perceptions of their current family cohesion, adaptability, communication, and parental and marital satisfaction, using veterans' and their spouses' self-reports. The results indicate significant associations between the psychological impact of war service and spouses' perceptions of their family functioning and satisfaction.
