Feeling water: Notes on the sensory construction of time and space in Banaras

Abstract: In Banaras, water appears to be an important marker of time and space. Water marks seasons, life-cycle moments, and daily cycles. This paper considers the implications of studying the sensory construction of time and space for anthropology.
