Abstract: There is a small but growing amount of empirical literature on the occurrence, nature, and impact of personality disorders in elderly individuals. Recent work has concentrated on extending longitudinal studies into late life, and the presence and impact of personality disorders in elderly who are depressed and cognitively compromised.
