Clinical measurement of craving in addiction

Abstract: Although there may not be complete agreement on how to define it or even what causes it, craving for an abused substance is a constant companion for the addicted individual. For clinicians the problem remains how to better define and identify craving, because changes in craving might indicate improvement or worsening in the patient's condition.
