Die physiologische Leukozytolyse - Ein Zelle-Milieu-Vorgang im System der Grundregulation, Teil 1 |
Abstract: Physiologic leukocytolysis describes a continuous process, by which complete cellular desintegration of normal polymorph nucleated leukocytes (PMN) occurs in the bloodstream. This causes the discharge of the whole spectrum of bioactive substances. By contrast, the process of degranulation leads only to a selective release of certain mediators. The morphologic and functional aspects of physiologic leukocytolysis identify it as an essential part of Pischinger's and Heine's groundregulation system. Thus, leukocytolysis permanently influences its environment, contributing to the maintenance or even restoration of homeostasis.lt is suggested that the release of cytokines, leukotrienes or bactericidal substances through lysis may represent an unspecific mechanism influencing immunologic processes on a broad scale. Physiologic leukocytolysis may at least partially explain the principle of action behind biological response modifiers. The results of this thesis suggest a participation of physiologic leukocytolysis in the abovementioned processes.
