Philosophische Gedanken zum Thema Krebs *

Abstract: The problem cancer is discussed on the four levels of the ontology model of N. Hartmann; on the first (anorganic) level as a relapse into chaos; on the second (organic) level as a biological involution; on the third (psychic) level as a weakness of the SELF and its formation forces, and finally on the fourth (mental) level as a possibility, to discover the essential of our existence by the encounter with death in ourselves. This knowledge will influence our behaviour as a physician, will protect it from a superficial polypragmasy, and will therefore help the patient to concentrate on the spiritual examination of the great fateful disease cancer.
