Children's Dosage of PhytopharmaceuticalsRepresentative, exemplary, age-stratified dosage practice for the herbal combination of active substances in Esberitox® N

Abstract: The objective of this survey was to confirm the hitherto registered dosage of the immunostimulant Esberitox® N (toblets/solution) for children in O drug safety and efficacy relevant way. For this purpose, 1000 medical doctors were surveyed with a standardized, open (non-anonymous) questionnaire. The data basis for the dosage recommendation were 248,679 Esberitox® treatments in 141,400 children. in comparison with the dosages recommended for children in the Esberitox® N Summary of Product Characteristics, the results confirm the registered recommended dosage and furthermore allow an agestratified and precise definition for children in accordance with §§5 and 22 AMG (German Pharmacy Act). Moreover, the results of the survey correspond to a great extent with those of the dosage of Esberitox® N (toblets/solution) calculated according to the formula of the »Kooperation Phytopharmaka« based an the adult dosage for phytopharmaceuticals (5). The methodology of the survey shows the possibility of estimating phytopharmaceutical dosages for children.
