Verbesserung des Allgemeinzustandes von Tumorpatienten durch die orale Applikation eines Milzpeptidpräparates

Abstract: 249 pretreated cancer patients received in a prospective field study an oral spleen peptide preparation (Polyerga®) over a period of four months. An additional antitumor therapy was not applied during the observation period. A significant increase of appetite was measured during the study period, while the body weight remained unchanged. A significant improvement of pain, performance status and well-being was recorded. Furthermore, the practitioners reported a distinct improvement of the degree of severity of the disease as a global impression, which was attributed to be induced by the peptide preparation.Breast cancer patients and those with colon- and other carcinomas showed the best results. Lung cancer patients and patients with already existing metastases showed a tendency towards a worsening of their status. lt can be summarized that the oral treatment with this peptide preparation induced a distinct improvement of their general condition in pretreated cancer patients.
