Verbesserung der Immunlage durch Pancakarma-Therapie bei onkologischen Patienten

Abstract: We are presenting case-studies showing our experience that immunological state of oncological patients is improved through Ayurvedic Pancakarma-therapy.In our hospital the immunological state of cancer-patients is assessed by lymphocyte subset identification. We use lymphocyte subset analysis by flow-cytometry (FACS-Track, Becton-Dickinson). Total number of lymphocytes, T- and B- lymphocytes, CD4 and CD8 lymphocytes and Natural killer (NK) lymphocytes are given in absolute numbers and percentages; in addition ratio of CD4 and CD 8 lymphocytes are calculated.In recent times we are also able to determine the number of activated natural killer cells. This lymphocyte subset analysis has to be interpreted by the physician in the light of clinical history especially considering history of infectious diseases, metabolic disorders, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, psychological state etc...We have observed a quick and clinically relevant improvement of the immunological state in cancer-patients undergoing Pancakarma-therapy. We present four casestudies illustrating this effect.Of special interest is the fact that the improvement in immunological state corresponds to a distinct improvement in quality of life as well as clinical state of health as experienced by the patient.
