Education and training in complementary and alternative medicine: a postal survey of UK universities, medical schools and faculties of nurse education |

, ,Abstract: Objektive: to assess the present and planned provision of education in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) within the UK higher education sector. Design: a national postal survey of universities, including medical schools, were received from at least one department of 89 (90%) universities. A total of 108 courses or modules in CAM were being provided from all sources, with 47 institutions planning future courses. CAM is more common in nurse than doctor education. Conclusion: Interest in CAM in higher education appears to be growing. Quality control of standards and course content is necessary.
