Soziale Rehabilitation und Erwerbstätigkeit

Abstract: Bernhard Borgetto Dipl.-Soziologe Abteilung für Medizinische Soziologie Medizinisches Zentrum für Psychosomatische Medizin der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen Gießen Zusammenfassung: Die soziale Rehabilitation ist im Verhältnis zur medizinischen und beruflichen Rehabilitation bislang eine Residualkategorie geblieben. Zentrales Erfolgskriterium der Rehabilitation ist die berufliche Reintegration (verbunden mit medizinischem Erfolg); erst wenn diese scheitert ist soziale Rehabilitation von Interesse. Gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen wie Wertewandel Individualisierung und Differenzierung der Lebensstile sowie Massenarbeitslosigkeit Rationalisierung der Arbeitswelt Segmentierung des Arbeitsmarktes und Tendenz zur Verkürzung der Lebensarbeitszeit werfen jedoch die Frage nach dem Verhältnis von beruflicher und sozialer Rehabilitation neu auf. Anhand der Problematik der Rückkehr zur Arbeit nach koronarer Bypassoperation wird gezeigt daß die berufliche Wiedereingliederung in starkem Maße von der lebensgeschichtlich entwickelten Arbeitsorientierung der Patienten und den sozioökonomischen Rahmenbedingungen abhängt. Die ICIDH bietet mit dem Konzept der sozialen Beeinträchtigungen einen entwicklungsfähigen Ansatz diese Ergebnisse theoretisch zu interpretieren und zu einem systematischen Konzept sozialer Rehabilitation auszuarbeiten. Social Rehabilitation and Gainful Employment: Social rehabilitation if contrasted with medical and vocational rehabilitation has hitherto remained a residual category. Vocational resettlement in conjunction with medical outcome being the central criterion of successful rehabilitation it is only on failure in that respect that social rehabilitation aspects come into view. Developments in the society at large such as changing values individualization and differentiation of life styles as well as mass unemployment working world rationalization a fragmented labour market and a trend towards shorter working lifes however warrant renewed attention to the relationship among vocational and social rehabilitation. The problems involved in returning to work after coronary bypass surgery serve to show that occupational resettlement is strongly dependent on the work orientation a patient has developed over his life course as well as on the overall socioeconomic conditions at hand. The ICIDH and its concept of social handicap provides a useful point of departure in seeking to develop a theoretical interpretation of these findings and to expand them towards a systematic concept of social rehabilitation.
