Archetype, history, dream: Their relation to mechanisms of defence

Abstract: The relation between archetypes, history, dream and defence is considered in respect of Jung's definition of archetype and some of his remarks about defence. As a result of the reflexions is to state, that defence has a proper place in theory and practice of Analytical Psychology, if the idea of dream is differentiated.
