Uncovering and healing hidden wounds: using Guided Imagery and Music to resolve complicated and disenfrachised grief. |
Journal/Book: Journal of Music and Imagery. 1997; 5: 1-23.
Abstract: Clients come to therapy with a variety of presenting problems and symptoms; the author maintains that unresolved grief is at the root of most. This paper defines grief in such a manner that psychotherapists can more easily identify and facilitate its expression and uncover the loss whaich may have been hidden or obscured by less obvious symptoms and problems. Case examples are provided to illustrate how GIM can be used to facilitate the resolution of this complicated grief.
Note: The article demonstrates how GIM works when uncovering and resolving normal grief, complicated and disenfrachised grief and unresolved losses of various types.
