Abstract: The following essay is the second part of our paper and shows how the Multimedia Press System is linked to the important online databases of newspapers, magazines, wire-services and the internet. All documents from these sources can be downloaded by their respective categories into the internal media-database, so that they can be used for comprehensive media and image analysis. Online articles in ASCII or RTF format may be completed by photographs or scanned images of the print version of an article by means of the image administration database. The system contains a database for persons, especially journalists and firms which is linked to the universal media database. Thus a systematic update and reorientation of the distribution of press-releases to journalists is easier to handle and quicker reaction to media events by informing all persons involved is possible too. The database for office management used for administration of correspondence can be used in a similar way as the media database. This database can be linked to IBM's voice-type-system in order to simplify the abstracting of radio and TV-reports. The documents of the whole system can finally be distributed in a fairly cheap and simple manner via an intranet or the internet. It is exspected that the consistent implementation of those database systems will lead to increases in productivity of between 50-100 %.
