Abstract: This article focuses on the current state of neuroimaging in affective disorders. Aside from providing a comprehensive review of structural and functional findings in affective disorders, it delineates comparisons between different methodologic and design issues affecting comparability and quality of these types of studies. The article is aimed at aiding the design of future studies of affective illness throughout development.
