Guided Imagery and Music in Head Trauma Rehabilitation

Abstract: Imagery, because it bypassess usual defense mechanisms and because it can be used to generate adaptive behavior, is useful for "working through" the lossess which result from head trauma and to create new emotional, cognitive and behavioral patterns. Carefully selected music will promote this process. This author uses case material to demonstrate how GIM can be used as a psychotherapy ind head trauma recovery.
