Abstract: This article contributes to the development of a specific music therapy concept for the very elderly, who are particularly affected by multimorbidity. Against the background of many years' experience of music therapy practice with elderly people in care, the autor presents the healing effects of body awareness, songs, rhythm work, listening to music and improvisation on the basis of a resilient therapeutic relationship. These effects can be the integration of sickness and unassimilated past experience as weil as maturing towards death.
