Electronic journals within libraries: A report from the ETH library

Abstract: A project launched in May 1996 at the ETH-Bibliothek Zurich (Main Library of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich) offers users an increasing number of electronic fulltext journals via the internet. The homepage ''Elektronische Zeitschriften der ETH-Bibliothek'' provides information concerning access regulations and gives users access to fulltexts. The number of online versions of scholarly journals is growing exponentially and libraries need to consider how these titles can be presented to the public and integrated into the Library's collection. The project realized by the ETH-Bibliothek exemplifies how university libraries can cope with this new challenge.
