Abstract: Some 50 publications from the years 1990 to 1995 in the field of gerontopsychiatry and gerontopsychotherapy were examined for their treatment of music therapy among the old. The small number of passages discovered contain highly diverse assessments, some provided by music therapists themselves. In consequence, more systematic and thus potentially more effective public relations work is advocated.
