Creative Music Therapy for people with chronic pain

Abstract: In a preliminary study seventeen adult patients with chronic pain had music therapy treatment. The aim was to investigate what creative music therapy couldoffer to people suffering chronic pain. By collecting single case material - including music therapy assessment and evaluation as weil as clinical data- the development was illustrated. The study supports the hypothesis that creative music therapy can help people in finding a different identity and another way todeal with life, including illness and pain.
