Women with high risk for breast cancer: Psychological symptoms |
Journal/Book: Psychol Rep. 1997; 80: P O Box 9229, Missoula, MT 59807. Psychological Reports. 800-802.
Abstract: This pilot study compared the psychological distress of 16 women with family histories of breast cancer (mother, sister, daughter, aunt) and 37 women with no such histories, all of whom were undergoing a regular checkup in a breast health clinic in northern Israel. Analysis indicated that women at high risk for breast cancer with a suspected syndrome experienced greater psychological distress than the women with no such histories.
