The multiple faces of developmental change: Toward an integration of different traditions: Comments on ''The nature(s) of developmental change: Piaget, Vygotsky, and the transition process'' by David H. Feldman and R. Clarke Fowler |

Abstract: In agreement with their assumption that the mind involves multiple structures, Feldman and Fowler argue that cognitive change is also driven by multiple mechanisms. It is argued that although this general assumption is consistent with other theory and research, Feldman and Fowler's mechanisms are rather general and not psychological enough. A series of questions are raised with the aim to steer inquiry in the direction of making the model more psychological and differentiated.
