Qualitätssicherung in der Arzneitherapie

Abstract: Long before the discussion about quality circles took place in our society, working groups were established with the aim, to reflect goals, therapeutical courses and results. The "Society for the Documentation of Empirical Material of the Chinese Drug Therapy", which has been founded in 1988, has even adopted this goal as the purpose of the society. While the topic of quality assurance more and more becomes the plaything of political regulations, the drug therapeutist is interested in it independently: The drug therapy produces direct and indirect effects to a great extent. It is not only the effect intended by the therapeutists which takes place, also many different levels of the patients are changed positively (or negatively). 'Me following "security risks" are encountered by the drug therapeutist:1.The therapeutist herself/himself: Is she/he sufficiently trained? Is she/he free from economic pressure? Is she/ he integrated in a systematic work of reflection?2.The drug: Is it identified incontestably? Is it free from visible and invisible impurities? Does the control by the pharmacies work?3.The therapeutic process: Are periods of treatment observed, which are long enough? Are unpleasant effects faded out? Is the patient included in the planning, the execution and the evaluation of the therapy?The article shows the present state of the efforts concerning quality assurance in the DECA and it assesses, which ones of the necessary claims have been fulfilled during the last 20 years and which have not been fulfilled.
