Biologische Auswirkungen von Wasser mit vermindertem Deuteriumgehalt |
Abstract: For more than 60 years it is known, that in addition to tritium there exists a second variant (isotopic) of hydrogen in nature with the mass number two deuterium (D). lt has also been known for a long time, that the chemical reaction behavior is different between the two isotopics due to the mass difference of 100% (see e.g.[1]).Although the deuterium, which is present in nature, can be found in a concentration of more than 10 mmol/l in various biological systems and therefore the concentration of deuterium is several times the concentration of microelements which is necessary for certain enzyme reactions, the possible role, natural deuterium plays in biological systems, has not been investigated. The experiments with water with a reduced content of deuterium (Dd-water), which have been carried out to clarify the possible role of deuterium, started about six years ago. The results seem to back up the assumption, that natural deuterium has an important control function in controlling the processes, which are taking place in cells [2].
