Abstract: At present method music therapy is under considerable pressure to legitimate itself as an effektive means of psychotherapy. An analysis of research literature on music therapy in psychiatry (STOFFLER; 1993) forms the basis for presenting relevant research approaches, exemplified by group music therapy. Methods and findings are discussed and research perspectives indicated.
