Model: A dual focused intervention for depression and addiction

Abstract: Adolescent depression and alcohol dependence are two major conditions affecting the youth of America. This article describes how adolescents are affected by these conditions and offers a dually focused treatment plan. The intervention is created to address the issues related to depression and alcohol dependence. To facilitate and maintain behavioral changes in treatment, the plan will consist of an adolescent group and a family program. The benefits of this type of treatment and rationale for its application are also discussed.
