A Kantian model for parapsychological phenomena |

Abstract: In this paper I argue that parapsychology's frequent concern with, for example, structuring constraints imposed by the mind makes Kant's ontological system, where infinitary raw data are structured by the faculty of the understanding, very useful for explaining many of the persistently puzzling features of parapsychology. (I make this argument despite Kant's ambivalent attitude toward phenomena that we nowadays would classify as parapsychological.) I conclude with speculations concerning the kind of limitations to which parapsychology may inherently be subject.
