Abstract: A presentation of GIM in theory and practice. Part I "The music imagery experience" outlines the history and theory of GIM and includes topics as Ordinary and nonordinary states of consciousness, music and imagery, Jungian inspiration, spiritual and transpersonal dimensions. Part II "Stories of inner healing" presents extensive case stories, illustrating GIM work with different clinical populations and problems, such as post traumatic stress from rape, hidden grief of abortions, child abuse, relationships problems, "father hunger", birth trauma and past life regression. Part III "Personal Journeyes: Music and Methods" contains exercises for personal work with music classified within four categories: water, air, fire and earth (with exeamples of all four categories on the accompanying CD).
