Heuristic rating scales: Description and application in two short-term therapies |
Journal/Book: Z Klin Psychol Psychiatr Psyc. 1996; 44: Postfach 2540, W-4790 Paderborn, Germany. Verlag Ferdinand Schoningh. 391-414.
Abstract: The Heuristic-Raring-Scales appeared to be useful instruments for the description of therapeutic goals and the identification of process characteristics determining the outcome of brief psycho-therapies. It could be shown that the scales can be used economically and that rater agreement soon reaches satisfactory levels. To demonstrate the potential use of the scales, their application in two different short term treatments are described which are presently analyzed in a multicenter study of ''single case oriented process research'' using a variety of different methods. The example demonstrates that the Heuristic-Rating-Scales are useful to discriminate both different theoretical foundations of treatments as well as the interplay between therapists' and patients' activities.
